Tracking New Coal-Fired Power Plants - May 2007
The National Energy Technology Laboratory compiles updated data on proposed coal power plants and their potential costs. One hundred and fifty-one new coal plants are proposed representing a total investment of $145 billion. This 90 gigawatts of power is the equivalent power for 90 million homes.

   

Clean Coal Technology Roadmap - April 2004
Clean coal generation technologies have near-zero emissions, but are currently not cost competitive with existing generating assets. The National Energy Technology Laboratory Clean Coal Technology Roadmap provides perspective on targets that certain technologies must meet to bring costs and efficiencies comparable to today's technology.
